AI represents a major shift for creatives, or everyone for that matter. And naturally we faced resistance. AI felt unfamiliar, complex… and as a result, [we saw] reduced overall interest and motivation to learn.
Our mission to embrace AI at Superside required an innovative learning strategy. We were facing widespread anxiety and resistance among our creatives, which we completely understood. That's when we discovered that microlearning via 7taps could transform this daunting new technology into something approachable and practical for our team. We're happy to share our journey and how we tackled AI adoption step-by-step.

Our microlearning strategy to combat resistance to change
Our first critical step was acknowledging that the arrival of AI was a significant upheaval for our creatives. Faced with fear and resistance, we needed a strategy to dismantle these barriers effectively. We crafted a learning journey focused on microlearning, leveraging 7taps to create quick, to-the-point modules that demystified AI and made it less intimidating.

Here’s how we did it, so you can do it too:
1. Recognize the challenges of AI adoption
Our first task was to understand the specific fears and obstacles our team faced regarding AI. AI felt intimidating and complex to many, making it hard for them to see its relevance. By identifying these core issues, we were able to focus our efforts on making AI more approachable. Microlearning became our vehicle to deliver this shift.
2. Develop the “Text Prompting for Creatives” microlearning journey
We built a nine-module AI upskilling course focusing on basic prompting techniques, each designed to be completed within 15 minutes. These bite-sized modules made the content less overwhelming and more digestible. Starting with text prompting was pivotal since it sits at the core of many AI tools – our team could see immediate, practical applications.
3. Keep learning relevant
To ensure relevance, we integrated real-world problems that our creatives typically encountered. For example, we designed a “Wonderwatch campaign” that mirrored their usual projects. As learners progressed through the modules, they consistently applied new prompting techniques to this campaign, solidifying their learning through practical application.
4. Make learning simple and digestible
Simplifying the complex topic of AI was perhaps the most challenging aspect. We ruthlessly pared down information, using straightforward language to break down difficult concepts into easily understandable chunks. This approach helped prevent learners from feeling overwhelmed and encouraged them to engage with the material.

5. Enhance practical application
Each module concluded with practical exercises. We asked learners to use ChatGPT to practice what they'd learned, applying new techniques to parts of the Wonderwatch campaign. This hands-on practice was essential in demonstrating AI’s utility and in building the learners' confidence in their ability to use these tools effectively.
6. Provide instant feedback
Learners could immediately see their progress through the practical applications, which served as a confidence boost. We included simple, practical exercises that illustrated their ability to grasp and apply AI concepts effortlessly, reinforcing positive learning outcomes and increasing motivation.
Results and takeaways
In short: we upskilled 200+ creatives in one year!
The feedback from our creatives was overwhelmingly positive. Most appreciated the simplicity and the practical nature of the microlearning modules delivered through 7taps. The new approach not only reignited their enthusiasm for learning but also resulted in the immediate application of AI techniques in customer projects.

Over time, this led to a significant cultural shift—AI was no longer seen as a threat, but as a valuable ally. Importantly, within a year, we successfully upskilled over 200 creatives to use generative AI in their work projects.
Microlearning gave us an option to ease learners into the world of AI. It's quick, to the point, and most importantly, it's not overwhelming. And 7taps was a great platform that enabled us to design learning in a way that we wanted and needed.
For anyone facing resistance to new, complex topics, I suggest making the overwhelming seem less scary by easing learners in with microlearning. Our journey with 7taps proved this method to be effective in breaking down daunting subjects into engaging, manageable, and practical lessons.
